Peter Haring Judd is the godson of Elizabeth Wade White and is her literary executor. After her death he visited her house to make an inventory of its contents, and discovered a vast collection of hitherto unknown letters, poems and manuscripts by White, Valentine Ackland, Sylvia Townsend Warner and Evelyn Holahan, recording their tumultuous relationships over thirty years. He constucted The Akeing Heart from these primary sources. With a background in education and practical energy conservation, Judd served as assistant commissioner for energy conservation in New York City housing. He is an actor and a genealogist.
