Stephanie M. Currenton, PhD, is the Associate Editor of Early Childhood Research Quarterly where she shares her knowledge of literacy development and cultural competence. She also serves as an assistant professor at Rutgers University’s Bloustein School of Planning & Public Policy where she studies the social, cognitive, and language development of low-income and minority children. Stephanie received her PhD in Developmental and Community Psychology form the University of Virginia and received a national fellowship from the American Association for Advancement of Science Policy Fellowship. She is a former member of the governing board of NAEYC and a well- known author, professor, and researcher.
